What Are Fast Turn Reports?

Ford’s Fast Turn reports provide some of the most powerful market insights available to dealers. You’ll find two versions: one for the previous model year and one for the current model year, covering all vehicle lines.

Each report includes a 16-week sales history, current availability, and average days on lot—showing exactly how quickly (or slowly) specific configurations are selling. The data is broken down into three sections:

Your dealership
Your market (the 25 closest dealers within 200 miles)
Your region

Where to Find the Fast Turn Reports

Ford updates these reports every Friday. To access them:

Go to the WBDO Dashboard.
Under USEFUL LINKS, click “Download SIMS Consolidated Dealer Packet for all VLs.”
A ZIP file will be downloaded. Open it and click on any vehicle line you want to explore.

Tip: We prefer downloading the Excel files for easier navigation but test out what works best for you.

How to Read the Reports

At this point, you might be overwhelmed with the amount of data you are looking at. There can be thousands of lines of data on a given vehicle line, but once you understand the layout, it becomes a game changer.

Working left to right, you’ll see:

Descriptions—Body codes, options, PEPs, colors, interiors, engines, and more.
Your store’s performance—16-week sales totals, mix %, and average days on lot (DOL).
Inventory data—On-ground units, in-transit units, total units, and their mix %.
Market and region breakdowns—Same metrics for a broader comparison.

How to Utilize Your Data Strategically

Focus on the decisions that are the most important to a sale – body/trim levels, engines, appearance packages, and colors.

Start with the Body/Equipment Group section. This shows how your trim level mix stacks up against local demand and which body codes and trims are turning fastest. Then refine your build with powertrain, packages, and paint decisions in the Equipment Group/Powertrain, Packages, and Paint sections.

If you consistently order based on what the market is asking for, you’ll be miles ahead of your competition.
